سنشرح في هذا الدرس الضمائر المنعكسة في اللغة الإنجليزية . تستخدم الضمائر المنعكسة كمفعول به عندما يكون المفعول به هو نفسه الفاعل , و تعود الضمائر المنعكسة على الفاعل سواء كان اسم أو ضمير.
الضمائر المنعكسة
تنتهي الضمائر المنعكسة ب(selfــ) للمفرد و (selvesــ) للجمع، هناك ثمانية ضمائر منعكسة في اللغة الإنجليزية ، موضحة في الجدول أدناه:

تمعّن الأمثلة التالية :
I hurt myself with a knife .
آذيت نفسي بالسكين .
نلاحظ في الجملة أننا استخدمنا الضمير المنعكس "myself" لأنه يعود على الفاعل " I " .

The boy hurt himself badly .
آذى الولد نفسه بشكل سيء .
نلاحظ في المثال السابق أننا استخدمنا الضمير المنعكس ""himself لأنه يعود على الفاعل "The boy".
The question itself isn't complicated , but the answer certainly is .
المسألة نفسها ليست معقدة , و لكن الجواب هو بالتأكيد صعب .
كما نلاحظ في المثال السابق أن الضمير المنعكس " itself " يعود على الفاعل " The question " .
أمثلة أخرى :
Rania looked at herself in the mirror.
نظرت رانيا إلى نفسها في المرآة .
You tidied the room yourself.
رتبت غرفتك بنفسك .
They made themselves coffee.
أعدّوا لأنفسهم القهوة .
Ali taught himself to play the piano .
علّم علي نفسه العزف على البيانو .
ملاحظات هامة :
إذا كان الضمير " you " يعبّر عن مفرد فالضمير المنعكس له هو "yourself" , أما إذا كان الضمير "you" يعبّر عن جمع فالضمير المنعكس له هو "yourselves" .
لاحظ الأمثلة التالية :
Boy, would you please help yourself ?
Boys, would you please help yourselves ?
نستخدم الضمير المنعكس مع "by" للدلالة على أن الشخص قام بالفعل لوحده و دون مساعدة أحد .

Yasser left home and lived by himself.
غادر ياسر البيت و عاش لوحده
The old lady lives by herself these days.
تعيش السيدة المسنّة لوحدها في هذه الأيام
I climbed by myself to the top of the mountain.
